BakerySuite SPS – PLC control

From flour silo to kneader.

BakerySuite SPS (German for PLC) controls your raw material equipment straight from the recipe: silos, flour conveying, intermediate weighing hopper and liquid dosing. The path is seamless – BakerySuite Touch → BakerySuite Server → BakerySuite SPS → your PLC. That is genuine full integration.

The path of the flour

Every step controlled – from truck to kneader.

This is what plant control with BakerySuite SPS looks like in live operation:

  1. 01

    Silo filling

The outdoor installation is controlled when a flour truck arrives – the flour is blown into the silos.

  2. 02

    Flour silos

The large flour silos are addressed and discharged under recipe control.

  3. 03

    Sieving & conveying

The flour passes through sieving machines and is conveyed through the pipelines by pressure blowers.

  4. 04

    Intermediate weighing hopper

The flour lands in an intermediate weighing hopper, is weighed and discharged in a controlled way.

  5. 05

    Jet filters

Jet filters blow in air to make sure even the last bit of flour ends up in the kneader.

  6. 06

    Liquid dosing

Liquids such as sour cream, cream, oil or egg are dosed from liquid tanks directly into the kneader.

Controlled by the recipe

The operator starts – the equipment doses.

At the terminal, the operator starts the recipe step. The BakerySuite Server determines the quantities from the current recipe, BakerySuite SPS transfers them to the PLC – and the equipment conveys, weighs and doses.

Status and results flow back and are documented. If a controller fails, the emergency plan in the BakerySuite Control Panel shows immediately where – and, if you wish, the PLC can be restarted directly from there.

  • No manual input at the equipment
  • Flour and liquids exactly to recipe
  • Every dosing operation documented

What is controlled

Typical equipment in a bakery’s raw material supply.

  • Silo control

Flour silos and silo filling via the outdoor installation when a truck delivers.

  • Pneumatic conveying

Sieving machines, pipelines and pressure blowers for transporting flour.

  • Intermediate weighing

Weighing in the conveying path and controlled discharge into the kneader.

  • Jet filters

Cleaning with compressed air so that no flour remains in the system.

  • Liquid dosing

Liquid tanks for sour cream, cream, oil, egg and more – dosed into the kneader.

  • Multi-vendor

Frequently asked questions

Which equipment does BakerySuite SPS control?

In live operation, BakerySuite SPS controls the raw material supply all the way to the kneader: silo filling from the truck, flour silos, sieving machines, pneumatic conveying with pressure blowers, intermediate weighing hopper, jet filters and the dosing of liquids such as sour cream, cream, oil and egg.

What does full integration mean in BakerySuite?

From the ERP order and recipe execution at the terminal through to PLC plant control, all data runs through one system. Nobody has to transfer values from one system to the next.

Which PLCs are supported?

Controllers from WAGO, Siemens and Phoenix Contact are currently connected – even mixed within one company. We evaluate other manufacturers on a project basis.

What happens if a PLC fails?

The emergency plan in the BakerySuite Control Panel shows immediately at which site, in which production unit and on which PLC the fault has occurred. If you enable this function, the PLC can be restarted directly via the Control Panel.

Can existing equipment be connected?

In many cases, yes – provided the equipment has a compatible controller. We assess your equipment during the analysis phase.

Which equipment do you want to control?

Together we’ll check how your silos, conveying and dosing systems can be connected to BakerySuite.
